Google Chat Integration Now Available With Outlook.Com

Outlook.com is the most popular email application released by Microsoft. Recently, they had to face very strong competition with Google and now the Outlook.com is trying its best to get the email crown back. As a step towards it, Microsoft transferred all the users of hotmail.com to their new messaging application and also by integrating Skype in google.com. This has raised the convenience factor of Outlook.com five times more than previous. To reach the next step, Microsoft has included Google chat integration in Outlook.com. Thus, an Outlook user will be able to chat with his/her friends in the Google contacts by using the Outlook application.

It is a very good option for Outlook.com to integrate Google chat when considering the versatility of Google chat. By using Google chat, a user will be able to chat with the friends in Facebook and Skype without any problems. Once this feature comes in Outlook application, its results can be seen within the initial days itself. A prompt will appear on your Outlook screen where it asks you for the permission to connect your Outlook account to the Google account. All you need is to type your Google login information, then a window will appear on your screen asking for Google request for permission. When you grant the permission, you are automatically connected to your Gmail account using Outlook.

When this is done, Outlook will populate the People contact manager and all the contacts of your Google account will appear on your Messaging contacts. Moreover, this Google chat integration will also benefit the cloud storage service of Microsoft called SkyDrive. This will come handy, if you need to chat with your associates and work on a document. Douglas Pearce, the group program manager for connected services wrote in a post, “If you’re working together on a document with a Google friend, you can be chatting with them at the same time without leaving SkyDrive, You can even share a link to the document and edit it together in real time.”

Even with these features, Microsoft still needs to fix some issues and once all the issues are fixed, Outlook.com can go toe on toe with Google. With these steps, it is evident that Microsoft is seriously trying to reshape Outlook.com and trying to enter direct competition with Google chat service. To know further information about Outlook.com, contact Microsoft chat support. The Microsoft chat team will be able to solve all your queries easily.

Removing Ask Toolbar From Your Browser

While browsing the web in your system, you may come across an add-on named as the Ask toolbar. While clicking on this, the toolbar would direct you to the Ask.com website. Here, you would be provided with the search results on the topic you were looking for. Although this comprises a convenient browsing experience for users, this toolbar would often replace your browser’s default home page to Ask.com. Hence, most users think about the Ask toolbar removal once they view it in their browser.

According to Windows technical support, many users complain that the Ask toolbar forces them to agree to various terms and conditions after replacing their browser’s home page. Often, users think of Ask toolbar as a virus, but it actually isn’t. Sometimes, Ask.com may be made use of by third parties to make money through advertisements that appear while you browse the Internet. Now, if at any time you find that your browser redirects to the site without asking for permission, it simply means that the toolbar has sneaked into your system without your knowledge. Although Ask toolbar is not a virus, such an infiltration of the browser would indicate that your browser is infected by malicious programs such as spyware, viruses or even browser hijackers. In such cases, the only option available for speedy recovery is Ask toolbar removal.

According to the Windows technical support, such issues usually arise when the user does not uncheck options while downloading usable software from the internet. Hence, along with the software, additional programs would also automatically get downloaded into your system, without your knowledge. Make sure you always go through the downloading options clearly before downloading any programs from the internet, so that you only download the programs that you require.

If you want to do the Ask toolbar removal, you can follow these steps:
  • After closing all the windows and tabs in your computer, click on the Control Panel option. Now, you need to click on the Add/Remove Programs option.
  • In the next step, click on ask toolbar, followed by the Remove option. Now. You can restart your browser.
These steps would help you to successfully remove Ask toolbar from your browser. However, if you are still not able to uninstall the Ask toolbar, feel free to contact our technical support team.

  • You could select Next, and the contacts will be default into your My Documents. However if you want to save these contacts in any other location click on the brose button and choose any convenient location on the system. If you like to copy these contacts into an external device like a Flash drive or an external hard drive, insert it and select after hitting browse. Hit Next to proceed.
  • Finally hit on Finish when you are finished. This feature is not exclusive to Outlook. In fact you can import your email contacts from most internet based email programs.
Keep these saved contacts safe especially if you stored them into a removable media. The contacts in your Outlook address book can be loaded into a separate PC with Outlook. If you opted to store these contacts in an external drive you could carry your contacts with you at all times, and connect them to another Outlook account. Thus you can carry your Outlook address book right in your pocket without trouble.

Enable Forced Automatic Restart In Windows 8 After Installing Relevant Updates

One of the major problems in the Windows 8 operating system is the forced restart problem just after you have updated the software and drivers in the system. When you have updated some of the Windows components using the Windows Update feature, the system shows you a message to restart Windows 8 computer in the login screen. The message displays that you need to restart the computer within three days of update and if you do not do it within three days, the system will automatically restart the system after that period.

After the three days grace period to restart Windows 8 operating system run computer, the system will show you a message showing that the system will automatically restart in the next fifteen minutes. The best thing you could do if you find the message is to save all the important work you are doing. However, there lies a small issue in this feature, if you have locked your computer using the built in Windows lock feature, the system waits until you unlock the system and starts the countdown only after the system is unlocked.

Even though the restart issue is not a big trouble for ordinary computer users, it may become a trouble for the system administrator who manages more computers at the same time. For fixing the above mentioned issue of not restarting the computer when the system is locked, the Windows support center has released an update for the operating system Windows 8 and Server 2012 so that the system will restart itself even if it is locked. Here we discuss the necessary steps a user needs to take for enabling it in his computer.
  • Press the Windows and the R keys found in the keyboard for opening the Windows Run dialog box. When the dialog box appears on the screen, type in it regedit for opening the registry editor window.
  • Now browse to the key given here from the registry editor window, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU. If you are not able to find the keys named AU or WindowsUpdate, you will need to create them manually.
  • In the right side pane of the registry editor window, look for the DWORD named as AlwaysAutoRebootAtScheduledTime, if you are not able to find it, create one by its name and then change the value in the DWORD to 1 if it is already not.
  • Close the registry editor window and restart your system for saving the changes.
If you follow the instructions given above, you will be able to download and install relevant Windows updates efficiently without encountering any issues.
