Worried About Losing Your Outlook Contacts

Outlook is an email client that lets connect with friends, family and colleagues. However the Outlook application is much more; it also has personal management tools. These include calendars, tasks, appointments, notes and journals. This makes Outlook one of the most widely used applications, especially among the working class, and it can be found used in most organizations. These can be used by individuals as well.

All your contacts are stored in an address book. You might often worry what you would do if all these precious contacts got lost. Well the best thing to do to avoid such a situation is to keep a backup of these contacts. Luckily making a backup of all your Outlook contacts from the address book takes barely over a few minutes. Outlook allows you to archive information in personal file folders. You can also import your contacts from this folder and save them on your system.

Instructions
  • First open the Microsoft Outlook 2007 email application and click on the File option on the top left side of the Outlook window.
  • A drop down menu appears. Click on Import and Export. Here you will find several options here. Search for Export to a file and then click on Next.
  • Select the option Comma Separated values(Windows) then click on Next. Click on the Contacts option, and hit Next. Type in contacts in the exported file name.
  • You could select Next, and the contacts will be default into your My Documents. However if you want to save these contacts in any other location click on the brose button and choose any convenient location on the system. If you like to copy these contacts into an external device like a Flash drive or an external hard drive, insert it and select after hitting browse. Hit Next to proceed.
  • Finally hit on Finish when you are finished. This feature is not exclusive to Outlook. In fact you can import your email contacts from most internet based email programs.
Keep these saved contacts safe especially if you stored them into a removable media. The contacts in your Outlook address book can be loaded into a separate PC with Outlook. If you opted to store these contacts in an external drive you could carry your contacts with you at all times, and connect them to another Outlook account. Thus you can carry your Outlook address book right in your pocket without trouble.
