Windows Phone For Government Duty Hardened By Microsoft

The relationship of Microsoft and the Government of United States seems to be turning more amicable. If not in other cases, it seems that the government and the software giant are in good terms when it comes to Windows Phone. Usually both of them never used to be in good terms. The US government is a big time technology buyer. The Federal budget for the year 2014 for Information Technology is around 81 billion dollars. Moreover, according to the White House Budget, the Fiscal 2105 Federal IT budget would dip down to 79 billion dollars.

The software giant is expecting that the US government would very soon realize the use of Windows Phone 8.1 built with the help of the Redmond giant. Microsoft expects that the government would soon relies its usefulness and consider buying them for the officers, since they have been pressurized to switch to a more gadget enabled work style. With the help of testing OmniTech support services, you get to test the product before using.

The primary Windows technology specialist in Microsoft, Rick Eagle was trying to combat the idea of one of the posts that was against the steps taken by the software giant in order to protect data in Windows Phone 8.1. Rick Eagle was trying to explain all about the efforts put forward by the software giant in order to make things easier for different people including the ones working for the government. He also added to his statement, “Microsoft field personnel and customers in many verticals," the company baked enterprise-grade security into the OS”.

VPN or Virtual Private Networking is included to Windows Phone 8.1, which is a native feature. He also said that the connection is being provisioned by MDM, which would also provide a Single-Sign-On security included in the devices through a certificate. Moreover, the connection will be reliable and would reconnect automatically whenever it is disconnected. Hence, the network will be flexible.

Apart from the one mentioned, a built-in MDM client hooked to one of the MDM platforms will be included. Eagle reported that the enrollment of different devices has been simplified to a large extent. Microsoft is planning to make enrollments easier along with decreasing the support costs.

Hardware such as camera, NFC, GPS and Bluetooth can be utilized according to the Granular MDM policies. Users get to experience stringently controlled features while the controls such as blacklisting and white listing will help in keeping the app controlled. These devices can be tested with the help of testing OmniTech support services using the apt OmniTech services.

How To Make A Distribution List In Microsoft Outlook

There are very few email management programs as useful in providing so many features as Microsoft Outlook. Developed by the Redmond based software maker, Outlook offers many useful features apart from the basic email sending and receiving options. Users can access calendar, schedule interviews, manage appointments, allocate tasks, set events, and perform many other things in Outlook. When used to its true caliber, Microsoft Outlook can really enhance the overall emailing experience.

One of the most striking features in Outlook is the ability to make contact groups. Actually, this Distribution List feature is used by users when they wish to send a particular email message to a group of people. When the set Distribution List is used, the contacts included in the directory will receive the same email message, all at the same time.

This really saves a huge amount of time because the email message is sent to a group instead of manually typing every email address. The OmniTech Support team guides you how to create a Distribution List in Outlook. Here are the steps involved:

Instructions

  • For making a Distribution List in Microsoft Outlook, go to File and then click on New. Then, select the Distribution List option from the drop down menu.
  • Type the name of your group in the Name section. Then you can add email addresses from your Contacts folder and Address Book by clicking on the Select Members button.
  • You can also add email addresses of people that are not present in your Contacts or Address Book folders by clicking on the Add New button.
  • When done, click on the Save and Close button. If you want to edit the list later, in case you need to add more people or remove some, you can access the list from the Address Book link in the Tools menu.

Now when you create a new email message, you can select the set Distribution List by clicking on its name under the Contact box. You can also simply type the name of the Distribution List in the To field.
Now you know how to create and use Distribution List in Outlook. For any further help with the above instructions, contact OmniTech Support team right away.

Steps To Uninstall The Yahoo Toolbar

A toolbar can be defined as a strip of icons that can be accessed by the user to perform a set of special functions. Sometimes, this can also be referred to as a row of boxes, which are usually found at the top of the application window that can be used to control several functions of the software. Hence, a toolbar can be used to access an array of functions that are commonly performed within a program.

Toolbars may also represent search engines and some of the examples of such toolbars include Yahoo toolbar, Google toolbar, Ask toolbar etc. The Yahoo Toolbar can be termed as a web browser add-on that allows the users to quickly access a variety of Yahoo features, saves recent searches and also provides several additional options like anti-spyware protection and creating bookmarks for easy website access. The toolbar often contains a Yahoo search box, access to your Yahoo email and the ability to add custom applications.

Although Yahoo toolbar has been designed to provide an advanced and convenient mode of browsing to the users, most of the times these end up irritating the customers. According to some OmniTech reviews posted by the Omni tech support customers, Yahoo toolbar often replaces the browser’s default home page in the system. Hence, whenever the user tries to open his specific search engine, he gets redirected to that of Yahoo. This has made many users think about uninstalling the toolbar from their systems as it is evident from several OmniTech reviews by users.

Well, if you’ve also encountered such issues with the Yahoo toolbar, please follow the instructions provided by the Omni Tech support team to get rid of this add-on:
  • In the first step, you can click on the Start menu on your computer screen. Once you do so, you’ll get a list of options from where you need to click on Control Panel.
  • Now, you need to click on Programs followed by Programs and Features. This will provide you with a list of all the applications and programs running in your system.
  • From this list, you can click on Yahoo! Toolbar and search for the option to delete it.
  • Once you find it, click on Uninstall followed by Yes to confirm and restart your computer.
These instructions can help you to uninstall the Yahoo toolbar from your system. To get more information on the same, feel free to contact the Omni Tech support team.

Omni Tech Support: The Best Technical Support Firm

I have availed the services of many technical support companies over the past and I think among these companies, OmniTechSupport is the best. I was not aware about this company until I came across one of the OmniTech reviews in a blog.

Let me first explain my experience with Omni Tech Support. Two months back, I bought a new printer. Even though my old printer was working fine, I thought to replace it with a new one that had more advanced features. I had installed printers earlier and therefore, I thought that I could set it up myself. However, the printer was not being detected by my computer. I tried most of the troubleshooting steps that I found online. However, nothing helped me.

I called up one of the famous technical support companies. It took about forty-five minutes to get the call transferred to a technician after making the payment. Once the call was transferred, the technician started trying the steps that I had tried earlier. I had explained to him all the steps, which I had tried and asked him to try something else. However, I found that the technician was not an expert and after two hours over the phone, I demanded a refund and ended the call. I was so embarrassed that I wasted two hours without any result.

Then, I came through one of the tech blogs where I found many positive OmniTech reviews. I called the technicians at Omni Tech Support and I was connected to a technician within ten minutes. Remember that I had to wait for forty-five minutes earlier with the other company. The technician started to troubleshoot the issue and he quickly found out that the print spooler service in my computer was disabled.

The technician enabled the service and helped me through the whole printer setup. The printer was setup successfully and I was able to print without any issues. The technician took only less than fifteen minutes to find out the trouble and fix it. I was so happy with the OmniTech support and I believe that it is the best in the industry.

Now, I rely on Omni Tech Support technicians for fixing all my computer related issues. Omni Tech Support has some of the best and the most highly skilled technicians. They are experts in technical support and provides the best support at an affordable price.

Test Patch To Fix Windows 8 Upgrade Bug Rolled Out In Select Regions

The Redmond giant has released a test patch to fix Microsoft errors such as the Windows 8.1 Update bug. Reports suggest that the patch will enable Windows 8 users to upgrade to Windows 8.1 without any potential issues. A test patch with similar effects has been released to address update issues with Windows RT as well. Sources privy to Microsoft reported that almost all Windows 8 editions confronted the update bug. The problem arises when Windows 8 users attempt to upgrade their operating system to the latest Windows 8.1 update. Microsoft released Windows 8.1 last year as a remedy to the increasing number of Windows 8 problems.

Microsoft hoped that the test patch would address the current Windows 8.1 upgrade issue and help users make a smooth and error free upgrade to the new operating system. Nevertheless, the tech giant said that the test patch would be rolled out only in select areas now. The decision to roll out the update to other regions will be made only after the research team gets feedbacks from users in the select areas. UK, USA and Germany are included in the select areas where Microsoft will roll out the test patch initially.

How to download the test patch fix?

If you belong to the select areas where Microsoft is releasing the test patch, you are eligible to the download and install the test patch fixes. It is a simple process. First of all, visit Microsoft support site and verify whether you are eligible for the test patch fix. You should be a valid Windows 8 user in order to install the test patch.

Once you are certain that you are a valid Windows 8 user and belong to the select region, visit the Windows Update site. You will find the link to download the patch here. Click the link to download the patch. Wait for a few seconds while the patch is being downloaded. Follow the prompts to complete the installation of the patch. You can decide now whether to proceed with automatic upgrade or manual upgrade.

What if the test patch doesn’t work?

There is no guarantee that the patch will fix Microsoft errors such as Windows Upgrade problems. It is only a test patch and Microsoft is still testing its reliability. If you face any issues while executing the test patch to fix the Windows 8 upgrade issues, feel free to get in touch with our Microsoft help desk.

Microsoft Releases Outlook Web App For Android

The Gmail icon on the home screen of your phone may get some company from the people at Microsoft. For this to happen, you should already have an Office 365 business mailbox installed in your phone. Microsoft has recently released a public beta version of Outlook Web App (OWA) webmail service that is intended for Android devices. Microsoft had previously announced their plans to launch such an app in late March. Outlook Web App is used mainly by Office 365 business subscribers or the Microsoft Exchange Server users. The requirements of the latest Android app states that it can only be used by Office 365 business plans now.

The OWA also needs Android 4.4 KitKat or later to run and is recommended for use in devices that have normal or small sized displays. In other words, tablets and phablets are not meant for this first release of the Outlook Web App. As this is not the final build, it is much likely that more features will be added over time and the users can expect to encounter a few bugs while using the beta Outlook Web App. As for the features that are now available, the users of OWA for Android will be able to look up a contact or check their schedule through voice commands and they will also be able to access their calendar.

The ability of using the voice of the user to look up a contact or to check out the schedule seems to be appealing to many of the users. The Calendar and People features in Outlook Web App have also been optimized for the Android app. Microsoft said that they will be taking feedback from this beta releases and will make use of it to add features together with support for more Android devices in the forthcoming updates. Microsoft had made its other Office web apps like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint free to use for the Android devices. It is rumored that the company will release full featured Office apps for the Android OS sometime before end of 2014.

If you would like to know how to get Microsoft Outlook Web App for Android, you can contact the Outlook help and support team. They will be able to help you understand more on the Outlook Web App for Android and will help you get Microsoft Outlook Web App working on your Android device.

About The Outlook Webmail App For Android

Microsoft’s revived Outlook webmail service has been getting some good reviews recently, especially since they added a few new updates to it. You might already know about Microsoft Outlook webmail app for the Android platform. These days, we no longer go online to access different services from a browser on mobile devices. We use apps instead. Outlook webmail app does exactly that on your Android smartphone.

About Microsoft Outlook app for Android

Outlook webmail app is easy to setup and use. The app is available for download at the Google Play store. However, I should mention here that the app developed by Microsoft bears their stamp. Microsoft assigned this task to the tech firm Seven Networks. This decision did attract some criticism recently, when it was revealed that there are no encryption security features in this app. You can read the report about this published by the tech security firm Include Security online.

So, if you are using this app in your Android mobile phone, I suggest you use any of the encryption software available to secure those Outlook messages, especially the ones you are storing in the memory card. Someone can just remove the card and read your mails on any other device.

When we keep aside this flaw, Outlook webmail app is indeed the smoothest way of accessing your emails online. It works almost like a mail client storing your email messages in the smartphone itself, which you can access whenever you want. Of course, as already mentioned, it might not be a smart idea to store them on your memory card due to low security measures.

Microsoft took care of the many problems reported by the users about some of the features in the app by releasing an update to the app in the last few months. If you updated your Outlook webmail app recently, you might have noticed some improvements in the functioning of this app.

One of the earlier complaints from the users was about the syncing function between the app and the online server. In the latest version, synchronizing is much easier. Also, you no longer have to download a particular mail in order to view it when searching from the app. The new search feature in the app will look into the messages stored in both your app as well as the online mail server.

So, if you have not installed the Outlook webmail app in your Android smartphone yet, visit the Google Play store and get it for free today.

Impending Windows 8.1 Upgrade Fix

Microsoft is reportedly thinking of getting a fix underway for widely reported issues with Windows 8 and Windows RT updates. Reportedly what they are working on, will ensure that all current Windows 8 and Windows RT users can effortlessly shift up to Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1 platforms.

Many users have reported issues while trying an upgrade to Windows 8.1. A fix to deal with this has reportedly hit the market already, as part of a testing phase. This is just as well, because many of these users have not forgotten being stymied by how to upgrade to Windows 8. So, it would not hurt Microsoft to look like they are doing something useful. With this particular fix, you have to check the Update tab on your device to know if you are eligible for the early release.

MaximumPC speculate that this will work out best for Windows RT users, as they would be able to download and install the update from the support site manually. In addition, Microsoft supposedly has many more updates to bring out along the line. This will include a Windows 8.1 update in or before September, called Windows 8.1 Update 2. The data size comes to around 3 GB, as opposed to the original update which came up to only about 700 MB. Therefore, there are more changes expected to be brought in this time around.

Then there is Windows 9, slated for release early next year. It will bring many changes to what Win 8.1 currently has and more usually doesn’t have in place – the most prominent being the Start button. Moreover, there is more to expect with the update, such as different home screen views. On a desktop, for example, this would look a lot like the Windows 7 home screen, but on tablets and smartphones, you would get the tiled interface, which Windows 8 made the cardinal mistake of dumping on desktop users as well. That is what made it so hard to work with, besides the fact that there was no discernible way to access a (Start) menu intuitive to former Windows users. Figuring out how to how to upgrade to Windows 8 was not half as bad.

However, looking at all that has happened since Windows 8 was first announced, Microsoft simply could not have missed any of it, which makes you wonder if it was just a protracted way of marketing Windows 9. That kind of foresight warrants admiration, but we will dole it out once Threshold is out.

Procedure To Generate An E-Mail Shortcut In Windows Vista

It may happen sometimes that you have to email an important status report to the same people each day. It becomes quite inconvenient and needlessly time consuming to create a new e-mail from scratch every time. This is where an amazing feature of Windows Vista becomes handy.

In Windows Vista OS, it is possible to create an e-mail shortcut, which when double-clicked, immediately starts your mail client and generates a new message ready at your disposal. All you need to do is fill in the details and send to the concerned contact. This Windows Vista help article will guide you through the entire process.

Instructions to create the e-mail shortcut

  • Right click on any blank area on your desktop, and select New from the context menu. Click on Shortcut to open Create Shortcut wizard on your computer.
  • Thereafter, in the blank box labeled Type the Location of the Item, enter mailto. Then add the email recipient’s address. For instance, you can type mailto:contactname@domain.com.
  • Then, type in the subject of the e-mail by typing ‘?subject=’ and then add a one-word subject. Remember, it is best to use just one word for the subject as things become easy when it comes to getting around a bug.
  • After that, click on the Next button and type a name for the shortcut. It is best that you choose a relevant name. For instance, if it is a sales report, you can use Sales Report Message.
  • Finally, click on the Finish button to complete the process. The shortcut icon will appear on your computer desktop immediately.
Accessing the shortcut
When you click on the shortcut icon, your default e-mail editor kicks in. Your default email program may be Outlook and the email editor Word 2007. It creates a new e-mail message in your default e-mail client addressing to the person whose information you have entered while creating the shortcut link.

Apart from individual e-mail addresses, you can also create mailto: shortcut that allows you to sends a message to all contacts in the Outlook distribution list. The only difference here is that instead of entering a single e-mail address, you will have to type the name of the group you have created in Outlook.

So that winds up how to ease up daily messaging tasks on your Vista computer. For any further help with the above procedure, feel free to contact Windows Vista help personnel.

IE 11 Security Updates Available Only To Updated Windows 7 Users

Though Windows 8 is the latest operating system by Microsoft, and is claimed to be much superior to Windows 7 platform, not many Windows 7 users are buying the whole Windows 7 vs Windows 8 argument about security features and modern user interface in the new OS. Reports highlight that more than 50% of the Windows users are still using Windows 7.

Recently, Microsoft made it clear that all Windows 8.1 users should upgrade to Windows 8.1 Update 1 to receive future OS updates. Windows 7 and Windows 8 were not mentioned in this list, but it is reported that only updated Windows 7 operating systems will receive any Internet Explorer 11 patches from now on.

This has to do with Microsoft classifying some of their updates as critical. You are expected to install these updates if you want to stay protected against hacking attacks and malware infections, but Windows users tend to ignore these warnings and skip most of these updates.

When they do this, they are missing some of these critical updates designed to fix the OS or software flaws. That is why; Microsoft is making the installation of these updates mandatory for receiving any future tech support.

In the case of Windows 7 users, this only affects IE11 security patches. They will still receive the OS updates as usual, and if Windows 7 users are using some other browser application like Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, they might as well ignore these warnings from Microsoft and just stick to the OS updates alone. Nevertheless, the point here is, if you do not install these critical Windows 7 updates, especially KB 2929437 update, then all the new IE updates will not even be displayed on the Windows Update Center.

This is very similar to the update policy that Microsoft followed in case of their older operating systems like Windows XP. After the release of Service Pack 1 for Windows XP, Microsoft stopped releasing patches for un-updated XP system and released patches designed for Windows XP SP1 version only. The update policy, however, is still same for all other operating systems and their Service Pack updates.

For more information about Windows 7 vs Windows 8 comparisons or OS update problems, go to our Windows tech support page or get in touch with experts over the toll-free number right away.

Microsoft Planning To Focus More On PC Gaming

Microsoft is getting ready to focus more on the PC gaming sector and the software giant has already taken a few steps in this regard. According to Phil Spencer of Xbox, the recent acquisition of Rise of Nations franchise is only a beginning.

Now, when one of the fans queried to Spencer why the company has taken over Rise of Nations and released it again for Steam, Spencer said, "Steam is a great place to sell Win32 games. We acquired the IP for future work; I'm a big fan of the franchise." However, to this answer, the fan’s response was that he was little interested in installing Steam even though he would love to play a Game set for Windows Live replacement. Spencer answered, "I agree that Microsoft needs to up our gaming presence on Windows. Part of my Xbox role is to bring back our Windows gaming focus."

According to Windows Live chat support, the games for Windows Live stopped the operations on July 1, 2014. Now, even though Spencer told about the refocusing plans in the gaming sector, he did not specify how exactly the company is hoping to rework in the sector. Keep in mind that this is not the first time Spencer had told about the company’s decision to refocus in the gaming sector. Earlier, in the Game Developers Conference, which was held in March, he told that gaming enthusiasts can soon expect more from Microsoft in PC gaming.

Even though the company is getting ready to focus more in the sector, it does not mean that gamers could expect a competitor for Steam in the near future. This is because Spencer made it clear at GDC that the company does not intend to battle it out with Steam and said, "It’s important to invest in a real way." Microsoft had earlier announced the release of DirectX12, which comes with many enhancements aimed at PC developers and Microsoft’s gaming device, Xbox One. This latest version of graphics API could bring in major changes in the gaming industry. This new API will help the developers to use the hardware resources more efficiently.

With the new developments, we might see major changes in the gaming industry in a few months time. According to Windows live chat support, Xbox One is gaining much popularity among the users and is giving tough competition to Play Station 4, which in turn has helped Microsoft to gain more confidence and put in more research in the gaming sector.

Repair Corruption In Microsoft Outlook

Microsoft Outlook is a useful email program, developed to function as a personal information manager. Apart from its basic feature of sending/receiving emails, Outlook has many other useful features that make it easily customizable and flexible. All the outlook related information is stored in a special file known as Personal Storage File (PST). This file normally works error-free. It has a 2GB limit, beyond which it starts acting weird and gets corrupted. This is not only reason this file gets corrupted. Viruses, abrupt restart or shut down, some human errors etc can corrupt the PST file. This is quite irritating as your work gets affected because of Outlook not working the way it should. You need to take appropriate steps to resolve this problem.

Just consider a situation in which you have Microsoft Outlook installed in your computer, but when you try to open an email attachment you receive an error messing saying that your Antivirus software has stopped the attachment from opening. In this scenario, you need to make sure whether your antivirus has expired or is fully up to date. Now, try opening the email attachment again. Another thing you should note here is that the attachment may contain some virus or malware which your system’s antivirus software has been unable to Quarantine or remove. If this happens, you need to be careful before opening it. If we consider the aforementioned scenario, let us see some of the reasons why such an error message pops up.
  • Sometimes, it may happen that your antivirus program is not compatible with Microsoft Office.
  • Another reason may be that your antivirus software is not able to get rid of the virus from the attachment.
  • The Personal Storage File (PST) file may be corrupted.
Here is how you resolve it
  • The first two causes can be resolved by downloading the latest or updated version of the antivirus software. You can get it from the internet. This should resolve the problem.
  • Now, regarding the PST corruption, you need to run an Inbox Repair Tool (scanpst.exe) for repairing the corrupted components.
Usually, Inbox Repair tool should resolve minor corruptions that form a reason for Outlook not working. But, if the problem persists, then you require downloading third party PST recovery tool to repair the PST file corruption. Before installing it, you should read the reviews, to ensure that it is functional or effective. If you see many negative reviews, you can go for other similar free PST recovery tools available for download on the Internet.

Windows 8 Crosses Some Important Milestones

Windows 8 is the latest operating system from Microsoft, and it has not been doing that well in the market so far. According to the latest market survey figures, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 together take up only about 14% of the Windows market share.

How the Windows operating systems stacks up in the market?

Windows 7 is still the market leader among all the Windows OS versions. It still maintains more than 50% of the market share for the Microsoft operating systems. What is surprising is the 25% share Windows XP still enjoys. Microsoft expected to see some significant drop in the Windows XP user base, as they stopped support for the 13 year old operating system.

But, the completely outdated operating system is still widely used, mainly because of its minimal system requirements. As already mentioned, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 together holds about 14% of the market. All the other Windows OS versions including Windows Vista get about 8%. This means that even if you put together the market shares for Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows Vista, it will not surpass the popularity enjoyed by Windows XP at the moment.

Microsoft did reach an important Windows 8 milestone

But, Microsoft is closely watching the Windows 8 sales and in the past few months, it did cross the very important Windows 8 milestone of 200 million units. When you are looking at the market share alone, you see that the Windows 8 just about managed to get to the two-digit mark at 14%. But, the actual number of Windows OS users this figure represents is in hundreds of millions.

This is because Windows operating systems take up a big chunk of the desktop PC market, close to 90%. The Mac and Linux operating systems take up the remaining 10%. Of course, it is entirely a different picture, if you are looking at the smartphone and tablet operating system markets. There, Android takes the lead followed by iOS and Windows 8 operating system.

Yet, another Windows 8 milestone for Microsoft is the number of apps available at their Windows Store. Windows Store crossed the 100,000 apps mark last year, and currently has 142,000 apps available. The Windows 8 users now have plenty of cool apps to choose from.

So, the 14% market share is not all that bad, if it keeps growing slowly and steadily over the next few months. Let us hope that it does.

Windows XP Users Will Not Receive The Internet Explorer Bug Fix

Tech security firm FireEye recently identified a significant security flaw in the Internet Explorer browser application. According to them, this problem affects all Internet Explorer versions from IE 6 to IE 11. This means all the Windows OS users from Windows XP to Windows 8 are at risk.

What are these Microsoft problems reported by FireEye?

From reports published by FireEye, it is clear that there is some kind of technical bug affecting these Internet Explorer versions. Tech experts at FireEye are of the opinion that hackers can very easily take advantage of these flaws and take control of a user’s system.

This they might do in the following manner. The hacker will launch a website online that contains the necessary malicious coding. A link to this website will be then sent to the unsuspecting user. When the user clicks on this link from the Internet Explorer, the malicious code will make use of the flaw in the Internet Explorer browser and infect system files.

The hacker can then gain easy access to the user’s system and steal important financial information. So, clearly, this Internet Explorer technical bug is a system security risk.

Microsoft to release a solution for fixing the IE technical bug

Microsoft has been paying attention to these reports published by FireEye and has been working on a solution to rectify these Microsoft problems. Windows OS users will soon be provided with a patch file that will fix this problem in the Internet Explorer browser.

However, XP users will be left out from this list. Microsoft stopped supporting Windows XP on April 8, 2014. They feel that the thirteen year-old operating system is completely outdated, and that as such it is not practical to provide any more tech support to an obsolete product.

But XP users still amount to about 25% of the total Windows OS market, second only to the popular Windows 7. This translates to hundreds of millions of users around the world. Microsoft’s decision not to provide a fix for this IE bug will affect all these users.

If Microsoft is not going to fix these IE problems in Windows XP, then these Windows XP users will have to switch to some other browser applications like Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. For more information about the IE technical bug, visit the Microsoft support website online.

How To Use MS Word With WordPress?

WordPress is a very popular web content management and hosting service. There are a lot WordPress tools and templates available that help users add content to their website online. However, if you go through some of the Microsoft support page forums, you will find that it is also possible to use MS Word for adding content to WordPress.

Things to keep in mind while using MS Word with WordPress

Most WordPress users prefer using the WordPress.com Post Editor to generate content for their websites. This is designed particularly for creating blog posts, and the text so created can be easily formatted. You can also use Windows Live Writer, which is also a software designed for creating blog posts.

Most of us already have MS Word application in our systems and use it for creating texts and document files. So, it is indeed very convenient to use the MS Word to create content for WordPress. But, you need to be careful when transferring the created content from MS Word to WordPress, as there is very good chance that the formatting will go all wrong.

For example, you might have some tables created in MS Word, which you will then paste onto the Visual Editor in WordPress. Here, you have to make sure that the formatting is carried over correctly. If not, then you have to make the necessary changes in WordPress after pasting the content from MS Word.

In the case of tables, the text will be carried over from MS Word to WordPress without any problems. But the table margins and other formatting will be transferred correctly. You need to keep an eye out for such errors and ensure that the content will be displayed correctly online.

One of the best methods is to use the Plain Text pasting option. When you are using this option, only the text content will be copied from MS Word to WordPress. This means that all the formatting used in the MS Word document will be dispensed with. You will only get the plain text copied correctly to WordPress. You have to then format it in WordPress, according to your requirements.
The latest MS Word version supports creation of blog content in the Word processor. You can also select the blog service provider as WordPress when creating such a document. For more information about this, visit the Microsoft support page online.

Windows 8- 100 Million Licenses Sold

The computer market is continuing to drive off a cliff, but now more users are starting to run the Windows 8 operating system. Microsoft said that they have attained the Windows 8 milestone of selling 100 million licenses for the Windows 8 operating system, up from 60 million in January. Meanwhile the Windows Store has hit 60,000 apps. It is hard to say how many of those licenses represent computers that are actually in use. This 100 million Windows 8 milestone includes computer sales as well as upgrades. However, the majority of the 40 million licenses that were sold since January are new computers, says the vice president of Microsoft, Tami Reller.

Releer told Mashable, "Upgrade season was pretty much over in January once all the offers expired." "So pretty much all of the growth from 60 to 100 [million] is new PCs." However, those are the computers that were shipped, not necessarily sold. This means that many of these computers could still be in store shelves or warehouses. Windows 8 operating system, for the first time, allows Microsoft to track activations online and as per Reller, those numbers have seen steady growth and he added that the overall rate is similar to the previous Windows releases.

A new platform- the Windows 8 operating system, is as powerful as the apps it has to offer. The Windows Store is witnessing steady growth as well, up to 60,000 apps from 40,000 in the month of January. The Windows 8 customers have done more than 250 million downloads as well. While the numbers are growing in the proper direction for Microsoft, they are still in the minor leagues when compared to the 800,000 apps and about 50 billion downloads for iOS.

Microsoft had some high profile hits like the Dropbox and Twitter, which Reller thinks have attracted some of the users to the Windows 8 operating system. But there are a few notable misses in the Windows 8 app catalog as well, the least of which is Facebook, which is a strategic partner of Microsoft.

Rller says that many of the developers are focused on the tablet experience, and she is confident that the upcoming Windows Blue update, which will bring with it small-screen tablet form factors, could give Windows 8 the required push to compete better with the rivals like iPad mini. If you wish to know more on the Windows 8 milestone, you can contact the Microsoft support team.

Microsoft Introduces New Update For Xbox One

Xbox has been ruling the roost in the field of gaming consoles since a long time back. This video gaming line launched by Microsoft includes a series of consoles as well as applications, streaming services, and the famous online network service known as Xbox Live. The most recent console launched in the series, Xbox One, includes numerous advanced and novel features. Due to these, the console is a huge hit among gamers worldwide, outdoing other popular gaming consoles such as PlayStation and Wii.

The latest patch released by Microsoft for Xbox One includes tweaks to the party chat feature. As the name suggests, this enables a group of people, say 8, to chat at the same time. More or less, it is video-conferencing that integrates with the gaming. According to the Microsoft live chat and support team, the new Version 1405 update announced by Microsoft, is all set to change the console's Get System Update button, which will now remain grayed out when users do not have any update to download. Now, if an Update Console text is available, you will get a notification saying that the firmware is ready for download.

According to sources, the company is still working on giving Xbox One owners the additional option to preload games they have pre-ordered from the Xbox Games Store. According to the Microsoft live chat and support team, this will help users to play the games they have already purchased more easily in their gaming consoles. The company spokesperson, Larry Hryb, replied to a thread titled Xbox One Needs Pre Loading [sic] Feature this year, by saying that the company is providing this option for all Xbox users. It was announce even last year by Microsoft's Marc Whitten, who served as the chief product officer for Xbox, that the ability to preload digital games wouldn't be available at the launch of the Xbox One. However, he assured gamers the company would be adding this feature in a short time. That was the most announced about the updates that were soon to follow in the Xbox One gaming console.

With the latest patch for Xbox One, Microsoft has strengthened the position of the gaming console, which is steadily proving to be tougher competitor for its contemporaries.

Microsoft Introduces New Features In Outlook

Microsoft recently launched updates for its primary email client service, Outlook, but this time, rather incorporating it in the application directly, Microsoft has introduced these updates in the Outlook.com website. Users can visit the website, and download and install the updates they require in their systems and alter the specific Outlook setting they desire.

According to the Outlook tech support team, the software giant has announced a series of advanced rules for Outlook.com, which will work almost like the IFTTT app for Android and iOS. With this feature, an email will be automatically pushed to the top of your inbox if it is not opened for more than three days. However, this does not mean that you will not have any latest updates in Outlook.

There are many interesting features in the app like the ability to create a new rule from a template, or even creating your own rule from the scratch. There are several options available for specific words in the sender's address as well. As per the sources, more user-friendly options are set to be launched in the near future on Outlook.com.

Other interesting features launched by Microsoft for altering preferred Outlook setting include the addition of an Undo feature, which will ensure that the emails you have accidentally deleted or moved can be undone quickly by using the CTRL-Z shortcut or using the Undo button. Along with this, the option of In-line replies has also been enabled in this program.

Now, you can also easily locate your friends in Outlook using the list of people available in the lower left-hand corner of the Outlook.com tab. You can chat with these people through services such as Skype, Facebook, or other instant messengers. Here, you will find a list being popped up, which gives you the information of the video and chat services your friends subscribe to, and whether they are online.

Earlier, users had to add the contact details manually, but now, Outlook will automatically fill the data. As stated by Mike Schakwitz, “The new features, which are rolling out today, build on our commitment to give your inbox new and better ways to do the heavy lifting and help you save time.”

Therefore, it is certain that Microsoft is all set to revamp Outlook by introducing such new features. For more information on the new features in Outlook, feel free to contact our technical support team.

Following Popular Demand, Windows 7 Returns To HP

Windows 7 is another milestone for the tech giant Microsoft. Even after the release of the Microsoft's latest operating system i.e. Windows 8, Windows 7 constitutes the majority of the Windows market share. By understanding this popularity for Windows 7 computers, Hewlett Packard, has decided to push the computers with Windows 7 operating systems as a part of its last marketing push. On its US website, the second large manufacturer of computers HP is selling computers loaded with Windows 7 operating systems.

HP's US websites says, “Back by popular demand,” which is allowing the users to get $150 off for all computers that are installed with Windows 7 operating system. Other famous PC manufacturers like Lenovo and Dell are also supplying the users with Windows 7 computers. However, the only company that is pushing the aging OS with attractive deals is HP. This will help the Windows 7 OS to get more customers. Microsoft’s most successful Windows OS is Windows 7 and with this decision, HP is trying to increase the PC shipments, which has been declining for the last seven quarters, thereby boosting the sales.

No plans to end Windows 7 support

According to the lifecycle page of the company, Microsoft did not put any end date for the manufacturers to stop the fresh Windows 7 installation on fresh computers. This will not change very soon. As Microsoft discontinued the Windows XP support, Microsoft hopes that many Windows XP customers will migrate from XP to Windows 7 OS. This will help to increase the Windows 7 sales and that is the reason that they have not kept an end date for the Windows 7 OS.

Some words on Windows XP

The operating system that has changed the Microsoft’s revenues and sales is Windows XP. After 12 years of its release, Microsoft ended the support provided to the OS in April 2014. Therefore, the Windows XP computers all across the world will be in danger and they will try to find some options like upgrading to a new OS or buying a new PC. HP is actually trying to take advantage of this situation as it can attract more Windows XP users to buy computers loaded with Windows 7 OS.

If you have any issues with Windows 7 operating system, contact the Windows 7 support team. The Windows 7 support team will be able to help you in solving all the doubts related to Windows 7 OS.

Tips For Accessing Windows If You Lose The Password

If you happen to forget your Windows OS Account password, all kinds of turmoil are set to happen. The easiest and safest way to access Windows is by availing a password reset disk that comes packed with Windows 7 and Windows Vista. While making a password or during the process of resetting one, users have to perform the task of creating a password reset disk.

If a reset disk is nonexistent or you have forgotten to create one, then the option left for users is the daunting task of reinstalling Windows, availing recovery software or even administrator access. For accessing Windows during an event of password loss, the below mentioned Windows tech support guidelines have to be followed.

Steps to follow
  • If creation of a password reset disk has been performed already, by availing the disk, boot Windows. Follow the instructions that appear and accordingly you will be able to access the system and easily perform the resetting of the password. Once you have reset the password and set a new one, by using the new password, you will be able to access Windows.
  • As the system administrator, access the system. You have to have the administrator password in order to login as the administrator and once you have done so, you will be able to alter the user password. According to the Windows version, you may require to access the system in safe mode so that you will be able to avail the administrator menus.
  • In the different computer shops, you will be able to buy a password recovery program. By searching the net, you may avail recovery programs easily. If you are performing the process of downloading the recovery program on another system, copy the recovery program and then use it on the locked computer by using a pen drive or CD.
  • By availing a Windows disk or CD, perform the process of reinstallation of Windows. Upon successful installation, make sure that the overwriting of the original installation does not take place, as later on, access will be possible if you know the password. You can work on the computer without the need of recovering or resetting the password if you are doing the process of Windows installation for the second time.
By adhering to the above mentioned Windows tech support guidelines, you can easily access Windows even after you have lost the Windows password.

Google Chat Integration Now Available With Outlook.Com

Outlook.com is the most popular email application released by Microsoft. Recently, they had to face very strong competition with Google and now the Outlook.com is trying its best to get the email crown back. As a step towards it, Microsoft transferred all the users of hotmail.com to their new messaging application and also by integrating Skype in google.com. This has raised the convenience factor of Outlook.com five times more than previous. To reach the next step, Microsoft has included Google chat integration in Outlook.com. Thus, an Outlook user will be able to chat with his/her friends in the Google contacts by using the Outlook application.

It is a very good option for Outlook.com to integrate Google chat when considering the versatility of Google chat. By using Google chat, a user will be able to chat with the friends in Facebook and Skype without any problems. Once this feature comes in Outlook application, its results can be seen within the initial days itself. A prompt will appear on your Outlook screen where it asks you for the permission to connect your Outlook account to the Google account. All you need is to type your Google login information, then a window will appear on your screen asking for Google request for permission. When you grant the permission, you are automatically connected to your Gmail account using Outlook.

When this is done, Outlook will populate the People contact manager and all the contacts of your Google account will appear on your Messaging contacts. Moreover, this Google chat integration will also benefit the cloud storage service of Microsoft called SkyDrive. This will come handy, if you need to chat with your associates and work on a document. Douglas Pearce, the group program manager for connected services wrote in a post, “If you’re working together on a document with a Google friend, you can be chatting with them at the same time without leaving SkyDrive, You can even share a link to the document and edit it together in real time.”

Even with these features, Microsoft still needs to fix some issues and once all the issues are fixed, Outlook.com can go toe on toe with Google. With these steps, it is evident that Microsoft is seriously trying to reshape Outlook.com and trying to enter direct competition with Google chat service. To know further information about Outlook.com, contact Microsoft chat support. The Microsoft chat team will be able to solve all your queries easily.

Removing Ask Toolbar From Your Browser

While browsing the web in your system, you may come across an add-on named as the Ask toolbar. While clicking on this, the toolbar would direct you to the Ask.com website. Here, you would be provided with the search results on the topic you were looking for. Although this comprises a convenient browsing experience for users, this toolbar would often replace your browser’s default home page to Ask.com. Hence, most users think about the Ask toolbar removal once they view it in their browser.

According to Windows technical support, many users complain that the Ask toolbar forces them to agree to various terms and conditions after replacing their browser’s home page. Often, users think of Ask toolbar as a virus, but it actually isn’t. Sometimes, Ask.com may be made use of by third parties to make money through advertisements that appear while you browse the Internet. Now, if at any time you find that your browser redirects to the site without asking for permission, it simply means that the toolbar has sneaked into your system without your knowledge. Although Ask toolbar is not a virus, such an infiltration of the browser would indicate that your browser is infected by malicious programs such as spyware, viruses or even browser hijackers. In such cases, the only option available for speedy recovery is Ask toolbar removal.

According to the Windows technical support, such issues usually arise when the user does not uncheck options while downloading usable software from the internet. Hence, along with the software, additional programs would also automatically get downloaded into your system, without your knowledge. Make sure you always go through the downloading options clearly before downloading any programs from the internet, so that you only download the programs that you require.

Enable Forced Automatic Restart In Windows 8 After Installing Relevant Updates

One of the major problems in the Windows 8 operating system is the forced restart problem just after you have updated the software and drivers in the system. When you have updated some of the Windows components using the Windows Update feature, the system shows you a message to restart Windows 8 computer in the login screen. The message displays that you need to restart the computer within three days of update and if you do not do it within three days, the system will automatically restart the system after that period.

After the three days grace period to restart Windows 8 operating system run computer, the system will show you a message showing that the system will automatically restart in the next fifteen minutes. The best thing you could do if you find the message is to save all the important work you are doing. However, there lies a small issue in this feature, if you have locked your computer using the built in Windows lock feature, the system waits until you unlock the system and starts the countdown only after the system is unlocked.

Even though the restart issue is not a big trouble for ordinary computer users, it may become a trouble for the system administrator who manages more computers at the same time. For fixing the above mentioned issue of not restarting the computer when the system is locked, the Windows support center has released an update for the operating system Windows 8 and Server 2012 so that the system will restart itself even if it is locked. Here we discuss the necessary steps a user needs to take for enabling it in his computer.
  • Press the Windows and the R keys found in the keyboard for opening the Windows Run dialog box. When the dialog box appears on the screen, type in it regedit for opening the registry editor window.
  • Now browse to the key given here from the registry editor window, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU. If you are not able to find the keys named AU or WindowsUpdate, you will need to create them manually.
  • In the right side pane of the registry editor window, look for the DWORD named as AlwaysAutoRebootAtScheduledTime, if you are not able to find it, create one by its name and then change the value in the DWORD to 1 if it is already not.
  • Close the registry editor window and restart your system for saving the changes.
If you follow the instructions given above, you will be able to download and install relevant Windows updates efficiently without encountering any issues.
