Procedure To Set Up Multiple Inboxes In Outlook 2007

Microsoft Outlook is one of the best email-clients, popular mostly among Windows users. Microsoft Outlook 2007 is one of Outlook’s recent editions with advanced features. It has many excellent features that can be used for various purposes. One of the obvious benefits of using Outlook 2007 is that you can easily set up multiple inboxes. This is especially helpful when you have many people using the same computer. By setting up multiple email profiles, each and every individual can check his or her email from the Outlook program without being concerned about privacy or security. It is even possible for you to customize the Outlook setting so that each user is required to enter a password before gaining access to an inbox. This enhances security.

Instructions for tweaking the Outlook setting
  • At first, you need to click on the Windows Start button. You will find this button located at the lower-left corner of your desktop screen. You need to select Control Panel after that.
  • Then you need to click on the User Accounts option and select Mail. The Outlook Mail Setup window launches.
  • After that, you can click on the Email Accounts button to launch the email setup wizard. Then you need to type in all of the account information for the first email inbox you wish to set up. You will be prompted to enter your email address, password and mail server settings. If you do not know the mail server settings, you can contact your Internet-service provider to get them.
  • Then, click on the Finish button when the email setup wizard is complete. This takes you back to the Mail Setup window.
  • After that, you can repeat Steps 3 and 4 for each email inbox you wish to set up.
  • Then click on the Show Profiles button from the Mail Setup window. A Mail window launches. Then click on the Add button to add a new email profile.
  • After that, you need to enter a display name for your email address into the Your Name field. Enter into the Email Address field the email address you wish to assign to the display name. For privacy and security, you can leave the password fields blank. Then click on the OK button. Repeat this step for each email account that has been created. As you create each profile, it appears in the Mail window underneath the General tab.
  • Then click on the radio button that is labeled Prompt for a Profile to be Used. Click the Apply button. Click OK to close the Mail window.
The above steps should help you set up Multiple Inboxes in Outlook 2007.
