Enabling Spell Check In Outlook Express 6

Outlook Express is an email program that is provided with the default installation of the Microsoft Windows operating system. This will be installed as a component of the Internet Explorer program. Outlook Express has a default spell checking utility that is built in which helps the users to confirm the spelling in email messages before you send them.

The Outlook Express 6 is a very useful program for sending, receiving and saving email messages. It does not have a built in spell check feature, but if you use it with the Microsoft Word-processing program (like Microsoft Word or Microsoft Works), you will be able to enjoy the benefits of a spell checker that comes with those programs and it can be then used by the Outlook Express program.

Those users who do not have the Microsoft Office suite installed in their computer will not have an easy spell checker option to be used in the Outlook Express. If you do not have and do not want to install the expensive Microsoft Office software, a spell check feature can be added to the Outlook Express 6 via a free spell check program. The Outlook Express help tips that are explained below will help you to add a spell checker to the Outlook Express program.

Instructions

  • Find out a free spell checker program online that can be used with Outlook Express. For instance, you can visit MajorGeeks.com and look for Spell checker OE 2.1.
  • Read the information presented on the Major Geeks website for the Spell Checker OE 2.1 and then click on any of the links under the heading Downloads. This will start the downloading of the installation file to your computer. Choose a convenient location to save the file on your hard drive, before the download starts.
  • After the download finishes, double-click on the installation file to install the spell checker to your computer. After the installation process is finished successfully, you would have added the spell checker program successfully in the Outlook Express program.

By following the above-discussed simple steps, you will be able to add the spell check program to Outlook Express. If you have any doubts on any of the steps that are discussed above, you can contact the Outlook Express help team for further assistance. They will be able to clear all your doubts and will help you to finish the installation steps successfully.
