Taking A Backup Of Outlook Express Inbox

Microsoft Outlook Express is an email manager program that many users employ to manage their email accounts efficiently. One of the major advantages of the Outlook Express program is that it allows the users to manage more than one email account from the same application. Instructions
  • Open the Outlook Express application by clicking on its icon found in the quick launch bar, if you are not able to find the icon in the quick launch bar, you could launch the program by double clicking on its icon found in the desktop.
  • Click on the Tools option found at the top of the application window and then select the Options tab from the drop down menu.
  • Click on the tab named Maintenance in the window and then look for the button named Store Folder, click on it when found.
  • Now the system will show you the location where the program stores the Outlook Express files like inbox contents in the system. Select the entire file path with the mouse and then press the CTRL and C buttons found in the keyboard to copy the file path.
  • Press the Windows and R keys found in the keyboard to open the Run dialog box.
  • Click in the text box found in the Run dialog box and the press the CTRL and V buttons in the keyboard simultaneously for pasting the folder path of the Outlook store folder in it. Press the Enter button for opening the store folder.
  • When the folder opens, press the CTRL and A buttons simultaneously for selecting all the files in the folder. Right click on the selection and then select the Copy option from the context menu for copying all the files to the clipboard.
  • Navigate to your desktop and then create a new folder in there and name it as backup-Outlook. Double click on the folder to open it and then press the CTRL and V buttons simultaneously for pasting all the contents to the new folder.
