- Open the Start menu and go to All Programs.
- Launch Microsoft Outlook from the list.
- Once the Outlook program comes up, select the option File and then go to Manage Rules and Alerts. Some versions of Outlook may have Rules under the option Tools.
- Select the option New Rule. This will bring up the Rules Wizard. You will find different headings under this wizard, like Stay Organized, Stay Up to Date and Start from a blank rule. You may choose any template from the list or go for a blank rule.
- Choose the necessary conditions for the incoming message. Keep in mind that the email will be forwarded only if these conditions are met.
- Select the option Next.
- Choose the option Forward, and then enter the Gmail address to which the mail needs to be forwarded.
- You may select any exceptions, which you wish to add to the rule. For instance, if you do not wish to forward emails from a particular person, choose the option Except if From People or Distribution List. You may add this person from the address book. Once you complete adding the email address, select Next.
- You may give a name to your rule and choose Finish. This will help you to forward the emails to your Gmail account automatically.
